Day 8

Hello, Sera. I went to see a movie today: Bohemian Rhapsody. Oddly enough, it reminded me of the night before we met. Do you remember it? I went to see a KISS cover band. As a matter of fact, I walked past the venue it was held at on Halloween. I still remember that day (and the day after) so vividly.
My father’s long-time friend came over to visit on the weekend that we met. He arrived on the 29th of June. I had cleaned my room the night before; that night, too, I had also posted my DDS collection to Instagram. It was then that we had our first conversation. I slept in til about 2 or so that afternoon. I spent the evening playing SMT II on my Famicom, waiting for my father’s friend to arrive so we could all leave for the venue. He arrived at about 5, and we left sometime around 6. We stood at the back of the venue to watch the concert. My dad kept getting touchy and wouldn’t take his hand off me, out of his annoyingly overprotective tendencies. Then, he left and dropped me off at home around 10 or 11. It was the first night I had alone to myself for well over a year. I spent it getting into my Sheffield cosplay, having a conversation with myself out loud, and watching Golden Boy before my dad and his friend came back at 3 AM. My dad, drunk, made a very offhand comment about me and I cried myself to sleep after about an hour.
The next day was strange. I woke up at 11 and we left straight away. First, we went out to my dad’s friend’s son’s house in a neighborhood near the one that we’ll be moving into soon. After that, we went and got drinks at a gas station. I got an energy drink flavored slushy. It was sticky and got all over me. Then, we searched around for somewhere to go eat. Since it was in the area, we stopped by this little strip of souvenir shops and attractions by a mountain trail called Dinosaur Ridge. I don’t remember the first restaurant we went to. We stepped out of the car for only a few minutes before going back in. We decided to go to some Texas-themed place instead. The food was terrible. Something important happened there, though. You joined my discord server. When we left, we drove through the mountains for a good hour or so before coming back home. We talked all the way back and we still talked afterwards. My dad was busy with his friend, so I had the entire rest of the day uninterrupted to myself. We spent… 13 hours straight talking together, I believe? I think so. That entire day felt so dreamlike and hazy. It started off horribly, but thanks to you, it became one of the best experiences I’ve had all year.
I’m sorry about how long today’s entry was, but I just felt that you needed to know how that felt from my side of the screen. So, thank you.
